Lewiston Auburn Maine Film Festival

Here’s something we’ve never done before! The Lewiston Auburn Film Festival will be held Saturday, April 2, in various locations throughout downtown Lewiston and Auburn, all within walking distance of each other.
Instead of sitting in a traditional Cineplex, each location participating in the film festival will double as a theater for one day only. These locations will host either an afternoon of movies or an afternoon of workshops. One ticket will get you in to all of the movies and workshops. A full-day pass is $29. Tickets can be purchased at L/A Arts, or at www.lafilmfestival.org.
Time for an Energy Audit? Cold Weather is Coming!
It’s that time of year when people think about conducting energy audits on their homes. Just like we do for people or cars, check-ups are also very important for your home. If a system breaks down in your existing or new home, it can result in unnecessarily high energy costs, uneven temperatures, moisture, poor indoor air quality, and even pest infestations. Energy auditors are home inspectors who evaluate your home to identify areas where energy efficiency improvements can save you money. Certified energy auditors are required to take two weeks of training and pass an associated exam. Call me to talk about this, and I can make a recommendation of someone in your area to do this for you. In Androscoggin County, many of the homes were built prior to modern building code enforcement, and most homes have not kept pace with modernized and efficient energy techniques. Your savings (and comfort) could be greatly improved.

Households Are Doubling Up During Troubled Times
Are you looking for a good-sized, well-maintained home that is close to all the amenities, AND in move-in condition? One of my favorite listings right now is located at 462 College St. in Lewiston, ME. This cute, single family Cape Cod home has three bedrooms, two baths, and a huge two-level deck. Your children, friends and family will enjoy the private fenced-in back yard— it will be great for outdoor recreation and entertaining. The first floor of this 1892-square-foot home offers formal living and dining rooms with built-ins, fabulous hardwood floors and a beautiful fire place, along with a cozy den and eat-in kitchen. The first-floor master bedroom suite is large, with cathedral ceilings, sliders out to the large deck, with a granite vanity and ceramic tile bathroom floor. There are two more large bedrooms upstairs — perfect for kids or hobbyists with built-ins and a full bath. The walk-out basement also offers opportunity for future expansion. This home is a must-see!
